Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in October in Canada and in November in the United States. It is to give thanks at the close of the harvest season. The Philippines has a unique "Thanksgiving Day" (Araw ng Pasasalamat). It's in June and is for honoring overseas Filipino workers who send money back home.
